CURRENT STUDENTS: Re-Enrollment / Withdrawing Enrollment / Open Enrollment Information
CURRENT DCSM STUDENTS: Re-Enrollment is COMING SOON
If your child will be in grades K-8, you do not need to do anything to enroll for next school year unless you want to enroll in Child Care.
If your child will be in Preschool, look for an email on October 30th with details. You do not need to do anything until that time. However, for budgeting purposes, please know that registration will take place from October 30th to November 3rd and registration fees will be due at that time. The Preschool Registration fee is $300.
If your child is currently in 8th grade please go to this post on our website and scroll to the last item under “Enrolling Elsewhere.”
If your child is in our Before, Cougar or After Care programs (or you would like them to be), look for the Re-Enrollment email on October 30th with details. For budgeting purposes, please know that registration will take place from October 30th to November 3rd and registration fees will be due at that time. New this year – Enrollment in our Care programs for currently enrolled students will close on November 3rd. We will re-open enrollment to our current students for these programs in January.

Enrolling Elsewhere – this information is provided for families who do not wish to re-enroll at our school next year.
- By visiting or touring other schools, you are not jeopardizing your enrollment here; however, once you are offered a spot at another school and accept, your enrollment at DCS Montessori for next school year will be terminated. Be careful about filling out enrollment paperwork if you are not ready to make a commitment.
- Want your child to attend a public Douglas County school that is not in your neighborhood? You must participate in the Open Enrollment Process.
- Want your child to attend a different Charter School? Contact that school for information on applying.
- Want your child to attend a private school? Contact that school for information on applying.
- Want your child to attend your “Neighborhood School?” Read the “Enrolling at your Neighborhood School” section below.
- Is your child an 8th grader? If your child is not going to your “Neighborhood High School,” please read the bullet points above. If your child will be attending your “Neighborhood High School,” please know that all 8th graders who live in-district will automatically roll to their neighborhood High School in the District database. However, we strongly recommend you give your child’s High School an Intent to Return form (linked below) to let them know you are planning on attending – that way they can better keep you informed.
Open Enrollment
The District Open Enrollment process generally begins on November 1st and generally ends on November 30th.

Enrolling at your Neighborhood School
You may return to your Neighborhood School next school year simply by completing an Intent to Return Form and submitting it to your neighborhood school prior to the deadline (which is unknown at this time) but we recommend you do this prior to Winter Break. Please check the District’s Website to learn the details about this process. Once you submit this form to your neighborhood school, your enrollment at DCS Montessori will be terminated for the next year and beyond.
We recommend you talk to your child’s teacher regarding your child’s enrollment before making a decision. You will want to know what the advantages are both at a traditional public school and our Montessori Charter School prior to making this decision.
