DCS Montessori School is a public Charter school, located in Douglas County, Colorado, which implements the Montessori philosophy of education.  The main campus opened in the fall of 1997 with approximately 130 students. In the fall of 2000, we opened our school building on 8.5 acres of land in Castle Pines.

We are currently a school of approximately 520 students, ages 3 to 14. Our main campus is housed in a 50,000 square foot facility that provides ample space for indoor and outdoor education and play. Our middle school campus opened in March 2014 and typically enrolls 60 middle school students.

DCS Montessori offers an authentic Montessori curriculum for children from age 3 through eighth grade. Multi-age classrooms, with children acting as both students and teachers, fostering a close-knit community where children learn to respect themselves, others, and the environment. Children progress at their own pace, mastering a set progression of skills and learning objectives. This self-paced curriculum with traditional Montessori materials encourages independence, problem solving and a life-long love of learning.

Historically, Montessori elementary students do well compared to their elementary school peers. Montessori schools are academically high-rated schools, and DCS Montessori plans to continue this tradition.
