For students in grades K-8 and in our Cougar Care Program a Reimbursable Meal which includes 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetables and a single entree meal is free. If your child adds a second entree or purchases additional treats/snacks, there will be a charge to your MySchoolBucks account (every child automatically has an account). For payment information, click the MySchoolBucks button above (this would be to pay for non-Reimbursable Meals, extra entrees, extra snack or drink purchases.)

Restricting Second Entrees
The District asks you to complete this form if you do not want your child to be able to purchase additional entrees or “seconds” when buying their school lunch. Without this form, your child will have the option to purchase seconds as they wish. The form can be found Here.
Restricting A la Carte Options
Our lunchroom offers many extra items for purchase – ranging from fruit smoothies to cookies. The District asks you to complete this form if you do not want your child to be able to purchase A la Carte items with their lunches. The “No Extra Food” form can be found Here
Free / Reduced Lunch Application
Each year you can apply for the Free / Reduced Lunch Program. Single Entree Reimbursable Meals (which includes 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetables) are free starting in 2023-2024; however, you should apply for Free / Reduced Lunches as you might qualify for a waiver of some school fees and/or additional assistance.

Q. How can my child get a school lunch?
A. School lunches are for students in grades K-8 and in our Cougar Care Program. When students arrive for the morning, they will let their teacher know their lunch choice. Every child has an “account” for school lunches. If your child gets a Reimbursable Meal (which includes 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetables), their single entree meal is free. For payment information, see MySchoolBucks (this would be to pay for non-Reimbursable Meals, extra entrees, extra snack or drink purchases).
Q. How will I know if my child’s account is running low?
A. MySchoolBucks can alert you and can even add funds to your account automatically. You can set this up yourself by clicking the MySchoolBucks button at the top of this page.
Q. How will I pay towards my child’s account?
A. Please pay for your child’s lunch account online with a credit card at MySchoolBucks.
When first setting up your account with MySchoolBucks, please note: We are listed as “Montessori Charter” – so scroll down to the “M’s.” And you will need your child’s date of birth or Student ID number which you can get from the Campus Portal. Paying this way has advantages such as: auto notifications when your child’s account runs low, auto reload if you choose this option, and the ease of paying online with a credit card.
Alternatively, you can send in a check or money order payable to “DCS Montessori” but please note in the memo section “Lunch” and your child’s name. You can attach a note if you want the money divided among other children in your family too.
