Text-A-Tip

Text-A-Tip Student Safety

Text-A-Tip is offered by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with all of the local police departments in Douglas County and the Douglas County School District.  It is operating in all traditional high schools and middle schools in the Douglas County School District, including Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch and Lutheran High School in Parker. The program is also offered at Elizabeth High School and Elbert County High School, in cooperation with their respective law enforcement agencies.

If students see someone selling drugs, bullying or threatening to hurt themselves or others, they can now tell law enforcement about it immediately and anonymously through Text-A-Tip.

Courageous students who have used Text-A-Tip over the years have helped save the lives of over 20 students from suicide alone.  This is an invaluable program that students use responsibly to help keep their friends and schools safe in partnership with their school resource officers and staff in their school building.
