We love reading at DCS and celebrate that love at the library!

Kindergarten through 6th grade visit the library weekly.

The inspiration for our library comes from a quote from the French aviator and author Antoine de St. Exupery (1900-1944) who wrote: “if you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”

This quote beautifully explains my heart for our library. I feel the best gift I can give our students is a love for reading and the rest will work itself out! Because if they want to learn to read, they will! And reading is a gift that you will use your whole life!

You can help out weekly in a library class, sign up for special projects or sign up for a special event like the Book Fair, Coat Drive or Book Drive. Greetings from the DCS Montessori Library! My name is Holly Morgan, AKA Ms. Holly. I am thrilled to serve as the librarian for DCS Montessori Charter School!

I have been with the Douglas County School District for 14 years. I began this wonderful journey at Castle Rock Middle School, then spent 2 years at Douglas County Libraries and then was blessed to become part of the incredible team here at DCS in 2012.

I have always loved books! Even when I was a little girl I remember being so engrossed in The Chronicles of Narnia that I would dream I was in Narnia at night and be sad to awaken to plain old California in the morning!

I also have a full life outside of work with a wonderful husband, 4 amazing children and 7 awesome grandchildren!

Thank you for the opportunity to share my love of reading with your children! We are learning so much from each other and I so enjoy walking this adventure with them!

Hi! My name is Chandra Ullom and I love books! I even met my husband at the college library where we both worked. That was just a short 21 years ago. Since then, we have found Colorado to be the most beautiful place to live and raise our two beautiful daughters. They both attend DCS Montessori and I don’t know who has learned more, my children or myself. I love sharing my joy of reading with other children and look forward to working in such a rich learning environment.

When I am not reading, I take care of three dogs, two guinea pigs, and only one cat. My favorite quote is “Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.” ~ Groucho Marx
