The DCS Fine Arts teachers would like to invite all students to participate in the 4th Annual DCS Montessori Arts Festival! This is an opportunity for our school to showcase student talent and creativity through an arts and crafts exhibit, literary competition and a performing arts talent show! We utilize professional judges who award 1st -3rd place in each category. A flyer was sent home about the Arts Fest in your Friday Folders before the Winter Break, and now it’s time to register to perform your talents and enter your art pieces.
This year the funds raised from the festival will go toward the purchase of a keyboard for our music program. There is a charge of $5.00 per entry (this is the main source of our funds raised for the festival), however, if you are unable to pay this amount, please email us.
Students may also choose to donate their submissions for a silent auction, which also raises funds for the festival.
Categories will be judged within grade levels of Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Middle School. Ms. Lorraine and Mr. Sam will have the rules and regulations for each category.
Deadlines are fast approaching – for Literary Arts the deadline to register and submit your writing is next week Wednesday, the 17th of January. For all other categories, the deadline is Friday, January 26th. You can submit as many entries as you wish. Perform your dance on Friday, and also submit your sculpture! Just be sure to register here for each entry .
